Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, announced today Lowrance pro angler Jacob Powroznik claimed the Major League Fishing (MLF) Bass Pro Tour Stage Two title on Lake Okeechobee in Okeechobee, Florida, February 21-26. Powroznik capped the tournament with a total weight of 49-pounds, 11-ounces on the final day to secure a come-from-behind victory. Lowrance Pros took eight of the top 10 spots.
The field of 80 anglers was divided into two groups of 40 to compete on days one and two for the Shotgun Round. On days three and four – the Elimination Round – the field is culled based on a combined two-day total weight from each angler’s Shotgun and Elimination Rounds. The top 20 anglers from each group in the Elimination Round (40 total) advanced to the Knockout Round on day five, which determined who competed in the Championship Round for the Stage title and $100,000.
In the Championship round, Powroznik entered Period 3 in sixth place, but surged to the top with eight bass, totaling nearly 30-pounds. It was his second Bass Pro Tour win. He has finished in the Top 10 in Angler Of the Year standings six out of the last seven years, competing in the FLW Tour and Bassmaster Elite Series. Powroznik was the 2014 Elite Series Rookie of the Year, a year in which he won two events.
