Lowrance® Named Major League Fishing Official Trolling Motor Sponsor

Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, announced today that its recently introduced Ghost trolling motor will be incorporated as standard equipment in the 2020 and 2021 Major League Fishing® (MLF) Cups. As a result, competing anglers will use the new Lowrance Ghost freshwater trolling motor throughout the series, as well as in the MLF World Championship, which airs on CBS Network.

Reliable, rugged and built to last, the new ultra-quiet Lowrance Ghost freshwater trolling motor helps anglers fish longer, run faster and move in closer without making a sound. Ghost has a specially designed brushless motor with the most thrust and the longest run time of any trolling motor on the market, plus other benefits including integrated Lowrance sonar options, waypoint anchoring and a three-year warranty.

The combination of reliability, power, efficiency and quiet performance give the Ghost trolling motor a winning combination that ticks all the boxes for what anglers want in a premium trolling motor.

“We are proud to enhance our sponsorship of the MLF Cups in the trolling motor category,” said Knut Frostad, CEO, Navico. “With its unique format, Major League Fishing has set a new standard for audience engagement with competitive bass fishing. Along with HDS LIVE and C-MAP charts, the addition of the Ghost freshwater trolling motor will give competing anglers the Ultimate Fishing System, allowing them to make the most of their time on the water during these made-for-TV events.”

MLF Cup participants are determined by angler performances in the Bass Pro Tour Stages, where its 80-angler roster includes the top and best-known professionals in the sport of bass fishing. MLF’s unique catch, weigh and immediate-release format, in which all scorable bass (typically a one-pound minimum) count, has proven to be appealing to the wide and diverse television audience watching MLF programming.

According to Nielsen ratings, “Major League Fishing” has been Outdoor Channel's top-rated show four years in a row. MLF also airs on Sportsman Channel, World Fishing Network, CBS, CBS Sports Network, Discovery Channel and on-demand on MyOutdoorTV (MOTV).

“Lowrance has been a valued sponsor of MLF since the beginning, and we appreciate their support,” said Jim Wilburn, President and CEO, MLF. “Our anglers benefit from using the latest and greatest innovations in fishing, and I’m confident they will enjoy the new Ghost freshwater trolling motor.”
