Lowrance sponsors 10th edition of the Soner Euro Cup

Lowrance is proud to sponsor the biggest black bass fishing tournament in Europe on its 10th anniversary

Southampton, UK - Lowrance®, a world leader in marine electronics since 1957, will sponsor the 10th edition of the international Soner Euro Cup competition, taking place on the 21st and 22nd September on the Cíjara lake in Extremadura (Spain).

Organised by the Madrid-based company Soner, the Soner Euro Cup is the biggest black bass sport fishing championship in Europe, conducted from boats. With a growing reputation, the event has become notorious for providing a challenging environment, even for the most experienced in the sport. For this reason, the tournament has become a mainstay on the angling calendar, with the 2019 edition set to attract 260 participants from 11 countries and 130 boats.

The 10th Soner Euro Cup will take place in one of the best black bass fishing areas in Europe. There will be 2 rounds, both with an intermediate weigh-in and in line with the catch and release rules. The lucky winner will receive the biggest prize given in a sport fishing competition in Europe, a Bass Tracker Classic special edition competition boat equipped with a Lowrance HOOK2 9 Splitshot fishfinder, a portable FishHunter fishfinder and C-Map Genesis premium accounts.

Lowrance products offer a range of features and technologies designed for anglers to help them increase their performance. Unlike many other marine electronics brands Lowrance gear is designed especially for angling, offering features such as StructureScan® 3D that provides anglers with a three-dimensional view beneath the boat, that will help give competitors the edge as they look to understand exactly where fish and structure are located.

In addition to the existing features this year competitors using Lowrance technology can also benefit from an exciting new software update that came out at the end of August 2018 offering; real-time charting functionality, as well as enhanced engine and mobile connectivity. The 18.2 software release saw the introduction of Genesis Live Charting for the Elite Ti, HDS Gen3 and HDS Carbon, delivering real-time mapping for the ultimate in up-to-date situational awareness. Using digital depth to create depth contour overlays on charts, Genesis Live is incredibly easy to use, a truly customised mapping experience. Uers can control contour transparency, the density of contours drawn on the screen up to ½ foot intervals, depth and safety shading colour palettes, and more.

This year the tournament sponsor C-Map Genesis is stepping up to help anglers catch more by offering all Lowrance users the most detailed contour map ever seen of the tournament venue, Cijara lake, in Spain. This new chart features steep drop-offs, holes, shallow flats and sunken islands/humps, saddles and points – just the kind of hidden fish-holding structure C-Map Genesis excels at uncovering. Soner Euro Cup competitors who want to use the C-Map Genesis chart in the tournament can download it for free from the Social Map at www.genesismaps.com
