“I have been fishing since I was 4, most of the time, with my boat on Lac Madine. I am out on the water a lot, 2-3 times a week, mainly looking for Pike. Being on a boat in the middle of the water is my favourite place to be, I’m excited to be the Lowrance Team Captain for the French team at the WCC this year – it’s set to be a great event”

“I have been fishing since 2005 in the Madine and this will be my 8th time at the WCC so I am very familiar with the waters. I love hunting for big carp and enjoy the competition, but the best part of the event is the atmosphere and buzz of the competitors, I’m proud to this year be representing Team Lowrance.”

“I am an avid carp angler and have fished the Medine since 2003. I have many years of experience in competitive fishing, taking part in in the WCC 4 times along with many other local events. The best part of the WCC event for me is being out and enjoying the nature and surroundings, this year I hope to have a PB!”

Coen Ursem – Team Captain

“I started pole fishing as a young boy, but after a couple of years I switched to carp fishing after I saw some of them swimming in the lake next to my house! Since then a new passion was born. Now a couple of years later I’m traveling a lot through Europe and have been at some amazing locations. I have been a marshall at the WCC for a couple of years now, but this year will be representing Team Lowrance which I’m so excited for! As a Lowrance ambassador I have years of experience with their electronics, which are a great help in my current type of fishing. We have a strong team of extremely competent anglers, fingers crossed for some big catches!”

“What I like best about carp fishing is the community and that you can learn a lot from other carp anglers. Competing in the WCC will be a great experience for me, as I have only recently began to target carp specifically, fishing this tournament as part of Team Lowrance is a dream come true. Being able to experience such a beautiful trip with your good friends and winning as a team would be amazing."

“I started fishing when I was about four years old with a pole rod like everyone else, first fishing for roach, and have been passionate about it ever since. I now focus on searching for carp and chasing the predators as well. Currently I am working in one of the oldest fishing shops in the Netherlands called Handy Fish located in Heiloo, I work there with a lot of joy, being able to combine my passion with a job is awesome. I am looking forward to the WCC, I think we have a fantastic team!”

Ross Honey, WCC event founder, said “The stage is set this year at the famous home of the World Carp Classic, Lac de Madine located in the Champagne region of France. For the past 2 years the biggest fish recorded at the event has topped the scales at a huge 29.8kgs. Expectations are high this year to beat 30kgs! It is certainly going to be a very special event this year after all of the challenges everybody has faced with the Covid Virus. We have taken all of the necessary precautions for a safe and fun event  It's great to have Lowrance as an event partner as the products they have are perfectly suited for the world of carp angling and an essential part of the equipment required. I am really looking forward to running the event this year and making it one that everybody will be proud to be involved in.”

Stay tuned with #WCCTeamLowrance for all the action from the teams.
