Lowrance Avionics®,
working with the FAA to enhance situational awareness
during taxi operations, has announced free downloads of new
enhanced "Safe Flight 21" maps for use with AirMap®
500, 600c, 1000 and 2000c products. Over 80 of these high
detail taxiway diagram maps are now available for the nation's
largest and busiest airports with additional airports being added
(view map of currently available
airports).
The Airport Map Database
(AMDB) project is being developed to produce highly-accurate
digital airport maps for use in moving map applications.
The increased situational awareness offered by these
maps offers an additional safety of operations never
before available for a handheld GPS.
Download your
FREE Airport Map Database to your Jeppesen® MMC/SD card. The
new Airport Database will use approximately 5mb of memory.
Enhanced
"Safe Flight 21" maps are compatible with AirMap® 500, 600c,
1000 and 2000c.
