Drivers for the LEI
MMC/SD Card Reader with USB 1.1
Note: If your MMC-USB Card
Reader states that it is a "2.0 MMC/SD" card reader, rather
than just "MMC/SD" card reader (see image above), do not
install these drivers. Use the drivers on the LEI MMC-USB 2.0 Drivers
page. If your MMCI-USB Interface Card Reader has a Lowrance
label, rather than a LEI label, use the drivers on the Lowrance MMCI-USB Drivers
page.
Installation
Caution:
Some older PCs running Windows 98 or Windows 98SE may have
hardware issues that cause conflicts with USB ports. Some of
the symptoms include Windows shut down problems or the system
locks-up while performing various functions.
If you experience these problems after
installing your card reader, uninstall the card reader and its
driver software, then visit the web site www.usbman.com for possible
solutions or contact our Customer Service Department at
800-324-1356 for assistance.
Note: Install the driver first, before plugging in
the MMC reader.
- Turn off all other applications (we recommend that you
disable any virus scanning software before beginning the
installation. You can turn the virus scanning program
back on after driver installation is complete. To do
this, refer to the virus scan software's instruction
manual.)
- Click on the Download Driver button below.
- Download the zipped file "LEI_USB_Drivers.zip".
- Unzip the file into a temporary folder. In this folder
you will find several files needed to install the USB drivers
for your PC.
- Find and run "Setup.exe".
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- When the installation program is finished, shut-down you
computer. Next, plug the reader into a USB port and
turn you computer back on.
- As Windows starts, you will see it find your new hardware
and software. After the "new hardware" messages
disappear, your reader is installed. You can now
transfer files to and from your MMC card or SD card.
You can also format your cards. Under "My Computer"
Windows will display your MMC reader as a removable disk
drive.
- Remember to restart any virus scan software you may have
disabled.
