Marine Electronics Leader Applauds Mark Court and Fred Roumbanis for Impressive Victories Using Lowrance Products

Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance, a world-leading brand in marine electronics since 1957 and GPS navigational systems since 1992, announced today that Mark Courts, Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) touring pro and Lowrance ProStaffer, has won the prestigious PWT Mercury Championship. Fishing in Lake Michigan’s Saginaw Bay against 50 of the world’s best walleye anglers, Courts clenched the victory
employing a suite of Lowrance products, including the award-winning, next-generation Broadband Sounder. Maintaining the lead throughout the three-day tournament, Courts relied on the innovative Lowrance sonar for its advanced noise reduction, enhanced image quality and cutting-edge target display definition to quickly eliminate unproductive water and locate active walleyes.

“Hats off to Mark for his impressive win at the 2008 Mercury Championship,” said Gordon Sprouse, director of marketing, Navico. “His use of our new high-performance Broadband Sounder at the PWT is a powerful testament to Lowrance’s best-in-class reputation. Mark has been a long-time user of Lowrance products, and we are thrilled to partner with him and support his drive.”

“The Lowrance Broadband Sounder’s shallow-water performance and enhanced target marks were a huge success for what I was able to do on the water,” said Courts. “The unit has only been available for a few months; but based on what I’ve seen, I look forward to learning all of its capabilities. As I become an expert on its performance, I am confident that the Broadband Sounder will be an even greater asset.”

On the same weekend, BASS Elite Angler Fred Roumbanis, earned championship honors, worth $100,000, at the Bassmaster Elite Series' Carolina Clash on Lake Murray in South Carolina. Roumbanis – who also uses Lowrance products exclusively, including the Broadband Sounder – has made the cut to advance for the final days of competition in five of six Elite Series events. He is currently in ninth place for Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings.
