HOOK-4 is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice compact unit I purchased this unit to go on my fishing kayak. It is perfect for the use. It is nice and bright even in the sun, easily read, the ability to make changes to the display are easily done and the functions are easily understood without memorizing the user manual. I have used other Lowrance products that have larger screens and while this one is small it is still very useable considering it's size. I could also see this unit being used as a bow unit for someone operating a trolling motor or as a back seat user- I would have loved this when I was fishing with a partner in tournaments! Great little unit, cost effective for all the features it has!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Patients pays off. I bought this as my first fish finder. Out of the box out was faulty. Sent in under warranty was replaced. Once hooked up and running wow I can even see my line and lure. Best addition to my kayak by far. Good product with great service. Only downfall I wish it had low voltage alarm on it so I could run lipo batteries safely and save weight

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great unit on a budget I got the model 3 months before being changed took "hook". Same features. Love it. Teamed with navionics card makes it awesome for my 14 foot boat. I have it on trolling motor with the pre chirp unit on stern. Only issue was a freeze up, that a cold boot fixed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from junk I bought this pile last year and it never seemed to work right . This year it does not work it all! it turns off, the brightness goes down when i turn it off, so you can not see the screen in day light, it tells me there are fish when there are none, and there are not fish while i am catching them. to day it told me i was in 162 feet of water the lake is only 11 feet deep. I had to reset it 3 times.this is the third lowrance fish finder I've had I also have two GPS units from lowrance I am done with these products!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased for cruising I purchased the Hook-4 with the Navionics+ card for my cruising boat. It works excellent. Updates fast and has a clear, bright screen. You would want to use it as an individual screen for sonar or chart location. I use it for chart location with a Depth and Time text overlay. Excellent unit!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GPS Failure I purchased my Hook 4 in Spring of 2016. I'm not a fisherman, and purchased it for the depth sounder and GPS capabilities. I have used it perhaps four times, typically for 1 or 2 hours, and once on a river cruise for 5 hours. Use has been on inland lakes in Michigan and Indiana. I recently tried to use it, and could not get the GPS function to work, and the depth sounder function was erratic. After a call to technical support and following their suggested steps, I have been told to send it back for exchange (but not under warranty, so I pay). Not at all satisfied.
