New Insight Genesis™ Features!
Enhanced Consumer-Level, Map-Making Tool Adds Privacy Option and Automatic Tidal Adjustments
We are pleased to announce cutting-edge enhancements to our revolutionary personal map-generation tool, Insight GenesisTM.
New features include:
- Privacy option
Individuals can decide to keep recorded sonar maps private or share selected trips.
- Automatic tidal adjustments
Offers enhanced inshore, coastal and offshore data with a new automatic tidal adjustment – using time and location of collected soundings to ensure map accuracy.
- Helpful pre-fish tools
Import and export waypoints, as well as tags and notes for convenient trip planning.
- Community-sharing option (Coming this Fall!)
Provides the best of both worlds—users have the ability to keep their maps private or share. This feature allows users to view and merge others’ shared Insight Genesis maps with their own.
- Enhanced Sonar Log Dashboard
A revised sonar log dashboard that makes it easier to view high volumes of sonar logs and sample maps for new users to try.
How it works:
To create free custom maps, simply activate the standard sonar-logging feature on any Lowrance, Simrad Yachting or B&G multifunction display to record all subsequent sonar data to an SD card. Once recorded, users can upload the sonar log file to the Insight Genesis cloud service via a PC, where it is converted into a map. The chart and related sonar log can be viewed for free using an embedded web viewer or downloaded for use on a compatible multifunction display.
Compatible displays for downloaded maps:
- Lowrance Elite HDI
- HDS (Gen2/Gen2 Touch required for on-water viewing of Insight Genesis Maps)
Countries that currently support Insight Genesis:
- New Zealand
- South Africa
- United Kingdom
