Rated 5 out of 5 by from No problems here The Lowrance Elite-3x came on my boat. I took it to a shallow lake to learn about the sonar I took the manual with me. I played with the adjustments and looked at the depth I was in. The picture is clear and it showed fish on the bottom and swimming by in water depth 10 to 2 feet. The water was clear and I could see the fish in the water and on the sonar. The arches on the the sonar were clear. I changed to fish id and the structure and fish were the same. So I changed back to arches and from 2 feet to 50 feet of water showed fish. When the fish arches are on the sonar the structure and fish are seperated and easy to detect the difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I use on watersheds in my area.  Nothing better than understanding the terrain, and conditions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not sure yet I have only used this a few times and its giving me some funny readings. Its showing depths of anywhere from 75' -1000' on a lake that's not more then 60' at its deepest level. I'm sure Ive done something wrong. Has anybody had the same problem?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Happy I used this fish finder for approximately 6 months this year but was never able to view any fish arches. With the fish ID on the screen was always full of fish that were not there. With the fish ID off it never showed fish arches like it says it will. I used it mostly for depth and temperature of the water.Looking at purchasing a different unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from For depth only same problem as other reviewers. Below 20 ft, just some dots on the screen. The higher frequency produced mass clutter on the screen. Wouldn't mark any fish readings below 20ft. Useful for depth and water temp only.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great item for a Fishing Kayak We put the Elite-3x on our Castaway Fishing Kayaks. Believe me, we riveted a bunch of Scotty Fishing holders, riggings, Go Pro Cam, and we noticed this model was waterproof up to 3 feet, so on the Kayak it goes. Not that we test electronics for their waterproofness, but I did dump my Yak upside down, and the unit still works perfectly. I was amazed. I love this unit. I can't wait to take this ice fishing.
